At the latest Living Machines 2025 conference, the MAPWORMS Project was featured in the workshop “Biomimetic Microrobots as Microscale Living Machines: New Materials and Technologies for Future Medical Solutions.”

During the workshop, an invited talk by SSSA team presented the vision and latest progress of MAPWORMS, highlighting how marine worm-inspired systems are guiding the development of next-generation soft robots and smart materials. The presentation emphasized the role of magnetic actuation, shape-morphing structures, and responsive materials in enabling adaptive, minimally invasive robotic solutions.

The ensuing discussion focused on how insights from biological systems are being translated into innovative engineering approaches, advancing soft robotics toward impactful applications.
