MAPWORMS
Consortium Overview

The MAPWORMS Consortium is featured by a unique combination of young researchers, research-intensive SMEs, key players in the involved research fields. More specifically, it consists of:

  1. two worldwide leading Academic partners (SSSA and HUJI) with high international reputation in biorobotics, biomedical engineering, mechanical modelling, nanobiotechnology and materials science;
  2. two motivated, research-intensive, SME companies with a consolidated tradition in the field of laser development for R&D applications (Vexlum) and in the field of translational R&D for medical technology (ACMIT GMBH);
  3. two marine Research Institutions, leaders in Europe, equipped with dedicated facilities for studying – also in a quantitative way – marine organisms and marine environments (CoNISMa and HCMR).

The geographical distribution of the partners from 5 different countries (Italy, Austria, Finland, Greece and Israel) represents a living example of cooperation in the European Research Area.
